Motel Really Rocks...

With Summer sales already popping up in many retail outlets before we've really had a summer this could be pretty good as if summer is delayed we'll have even more clothes to rock with our shades. If like me you've given up hope on the sun ever returning it's a great chance to pop in some colour ready for the dull days of A/W12. Teaming dresses with tights and boots, bright skirts with jumpers and parka jackets ...you get the picture. Motel have been rather lovely and sent over a special code for the blogsphere to abuse a tad. It's a special 50% off for the sale and you can use it in the days before most people can even access the sale!

Click the link below to get secret sales shopping.

If you do buy anything be sure to tweet me or post up a link to your blog below, i love seeing how you all style pieces in your individual ways....plus spying on fellow fashion lovers is how i get most of my own inspiration :)

Paradise Times...

Apologies for the lack of blogging action ( or should that be no blogging action) over the past two weeks but i was stuck in Malaysia being forced to enjoy the sun, shops and party a little too much. As you can imagine this was utter torture...the kind i adore! As well as being a well needed break from a stressful few months it gave me the chance to see my family (all my mums side all reside over that part of the world) and be reunited with one of my beauts who was lucky enough to bugger off travelling for the best part of a year. Fellow bloggers and wiwt users will understand my excitement at moving away from the 'white background' outfit posts to something with a bit more character, i managed to snap a fair few which i'll share with you all in the coming couple of weeks. But to start with here's a few oh so casual loo shots when i forgot to shoot the days look and few extra's to give you a bit of a holiday rundown.  I also managed to hunt down a rather nifty tailor and got a few pieces made ( cue the happy/excited dance) roll on the chance to abuse my camera and the social calendar!

Glad to be back and thinking i definitely need to get an ipad by the next holiday, i missed posting for you loves a tad too much ( obsessive blogger alert!).

WIWT - We Like To Party...

Warehouse Lace Top - BHS Bralet - Zara Jeans & Flats
- Topshop Velvet Bag -

Who likes a party on a monday night? Yep that's right i sure do, and so when i got a little invitation to the first London based WIWT event there was no stopping me. After a week or so of tweets between myself & various bloggers i headed off down to Chancery Lane though not before creating what can only be explained as a bomb site in my room ( does the phrase 'so many clothes nothing to wear' ring a bell? ha). I was a tad early and whist hanging around outside ( on a street corner never the less ..classy hey!) i met Bradders as she'd recognised me from the site  and was sweet enough to come say hi to a lonesome lass. That kind of set the tone for the evening, lots of new yet familar faces just roaming around and introducing themselves to each other over some lush food & impressive punch!

Somehow ( thanks to all the beauties who 'star' my looks on wiwt ) i managed to find my way on to the golden ticket list which meant i got a little bag of treats. Choccys, a cheeky bit of Boux Avenue action ( If i had a man he'd be rather happy with this treat)  and discounts filled the wiwt canvas.

It was a great event and i just want to take this time to say a massive thanks once again to the WIWT team. There's a fair few blogging events but this one was for the sole purpose of bloggers to actually meet and just natter away. Personally i love meeting new people & when they've got a shared interest it's always that much better. It's just made me love the little community of wiwt users even more! Have a peak at the following profiles of the some of beauts i spent my night chatting away to and definitely check out their blogs. (There were more of you ladies but i can't track you down on wiwt. Wahhh! But if you leave me your link below or tweet me i'll add it into my list.)

Yuki & Miwa Press Event

Last week i was invited along to the Yuki and Miwa christmas press evening held in London. The premise of the event was to introduce us to the more recent styles of the Yuki brand, whilst showcasing the newer Miwa collection. I had come across Yuki before when on a few of my many shopping escapades, but to be honest hadn't spent too much time really looking through the collection so this event was a great way to find out more.

I arrived with my fellow blogger loveforfashion and we were given a run through of the recent Yuki pieces which included some lovely coats, knits and tunics.
I took a few snaps of my favourite pieces......

The influence of Japanase and Korean fashion is plain to see ( both cultures from part of the designers background) and these are the kind of pieces i tend to only find when on my travels to the far east.
We were also treated to some amazing cupcakes , festive bites and mojitos ( yep i was in heaven).

And to round off a fabulous evening i opened up a bag of treats once home. A big thanks to all the Yuki Tokyo team for a lovely event and an early christmas treat!

Like what you see? Head over to YukiTokyo for a peak at the collection in full

Motel Rocks Bloggers Bonanza

Last thursday saw the Motel Rocks bloggers night, an evening of fun courtesy of...yep Motel. The event was a great excuse to meet other bloggers and to preview the christmas collection, all whilst sipping away on a few cocktails. I know it sounds heaven doesn't it! Being my first 'bloggers event' i wasn't sure on what to expect, i was a tad nervous as i was headed up on my lonesome but felt a little reassured as fellow blogger Loveforfashion would also be  in attendance.  Along with most of those attending i was in a bit of a panic over what to wear , but knowing i had a freezing commute i took along my trusty ear muffs. The rest of my outfit basically consisted of a pleated maxi (worn higher as midi) with a lace blue top from Warehouse , green slipper style flats from topshop and the obligatory gold jewels.

Delicious Glossybox Cupcakes
There was even a nail bar....

My chosen dress...
After a cocktail or two, some candy floss and a scan of the collection we were allowed to select a piece for free. Personally i still can't quite believe we were not only treat to a fab evening but also walked away with the knowledge a dress was on it's way to us! I opted for the Motel Carole Shirt Dress in City SceneI literally fell in love with the print as soon as i saw someone holding it up , but then i saw the cropped shirt version and spent about an hour in limbo, finally deciding on the dress. I will be sure to complete an ootd post with the beauty once it arrives.

Overall i was pretty impressed with what i saw, not being your typical Motel Rocks girl i was wondering if i would spy more than 1 or 2 things i liked, but the new pieces have a bit of an 'edge' to them and to me this is a great move. By playing around with prints and colours they've created something fresh but still Motel Rocks.

A big thanks to Motel Rocks for a great evening and especially @Motel_Selina who invited me and the fellow lovely ladies in attendance.Make sure you check out the blogs of : Tilly, Daisy, Tami, Kathy , Ellie, Kirsty, Lois and Meera  the fabulous ladies who kept me company during the event.

The Glamour Awards 2011

I'm pretty sure you would've all been bombarded with the fashions sported at the annual Glamour Awards over the past 24 hours, but i'm still pushing ahead with my thoughts on the evenings looks.
So here goes my best dressed of the evening and why....

Up there on my personal style icon list Jameela Jamil once again gets it spot on. Love the print, the quirky detail and the heart bag! Showing us all that you can inject a bit of fun into an outfit with ease.

Kim Kardashian and Jessie J prove black maxi gowns don't have to be the same. With totally different figures and personal styles, they both look stunning in their respective gowns, proving black doesn't have to be boring.

VS Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked every inch the supermodel/hollywood starlet in this floor length Stella McCartney Champagne number. The daring thigh high slit and pleated effect of the fabric show, yet again,  how small details can ensure a gown is red carpet ready. Though bright hues are all the rage this season, opting for more subtle tones could in fact make more of an impact.

I loved the fact The Saturdays rocked individual looks, normally seen in co-odrinated outfits the styling for the awards was a welcome change. My favourite = Frankie (second from the left) in her structured body-con number with embellished detailing. I'm now just waiting for a billon high street copies of this dress to come rolling out in the coming months. Whilst Vanessa and Rochelle show how a bright lip can dress up an otherwise simple black dress.
