The night that was : Grammy awards females...

After a long weekend of a complete randomness and a lastmin.com style night out courtesy of Manchester, it was back to work last night with the Bafta's AND the Grammys taking place. As always each red carpet showcased their best/orst dressed , for me the Baftas weren't overtly exciting in terms of fashion but Grammy's didn't fail to disappoint.
So I decided to focus all my attention on the awards show from across the ocean.
The fashionistas were out in force last night, providing us with some gorgeous and equally ...well not so gorgeous looks as always here's my pick of the best & worst dressed of the evening.

My best

Rihanna in Jean Paul Gaultier
When i first saw her being interviewed i wasn't sure but after looking at a few pictures i must say i do like it. The cut of the dress worked with her curves perfectly. It's a little left-field but the grammys are one of those awards shows where you can have some fun with your outfit of choice.
Julianne Hough in Catherine Malandrino
Breaking with the block colour trend favoured by many , this printed dress screams SS11. Looking fun and flirty yet still glamourous. The shape is something most ladies could go for when looking to find a flattering maxi style dress.
Kelly O in Tadashi Shoji
In recent times Kelly has become one of the best dressed ladies stateside . The colour of this dress suits her skin tone perfectly, is girly and the detailing at the waist means its more flattering than you would first expect.
My worst

Glee's Amber Riley
As soon as she popped up on my tv screen one word popped into my head: Why?
The dress is a showcase of 'paint effects' but the cut isn't flattering for her shape, her blunt fringe, for me, is too harsh and the random shoulder armour (which is actually part of the necklace) is too try hard

Miley Cyrus in Roberto Cavalli
She's been trying this 'adult look'  recently & it just doesn't work. Instead of looking grown up i feel like she looks, well, sort of  cheap & tacky. Julianne Houghs dress would've looked stunning on her.

My crazy favs

Nicki Minaj :
working the animal print trend like no other.

Finally Laga Gaga's entrance.
Yes that's really her inside a 'womb'!
