ELLE style awards....

Now this weeks proving to a be a busy one in awards land! Sunday saw the Baftas and the Grammys, tonight it's the turn of the Brits and last night saw Elle magazines annual style awards. There are a few big players amongst the high fashion glossys and Elle are up there with the best. For me though they are probably my favourite. Ok so i like any girl i dream of the day i'd ever make it into the pages of Vogue, but Elle's always felt more accessible.
So much so they have their annual awards show which honours the best in Fashion, Music, Tv and Film.
Then there's the red carpet, undoubtedly one of THE red carpets of the awards season. Remember these famous shots....

Alexa Chung at the 2008 awards...One of her most famed 'looks'

Miss Chung again this time in 2009

Ashley Olsen at the 2010 ceremony
Right so back to this years festivities. Some of the ''fashion'' sported by apparent fashionistas had me wondering if they'd selected and then put on their items, alone in a darkened room! But then there were some that look fabulous!

T4 Presenter Jameela Jamil. My best dressed of the night by a mile. From the the beautiful dress to the simple  yet edgy accessories to the bright lips i'm in love. I want it ALL in my wardrobe!

Elle's best tv star : Gossip Girl Blake Lively in blue Pucci gown. Working the pop of colour trend with the blue gown, the colour clash trend with the contrasting shoes and THE maxi style of the season (short at front) she shows why she's deserving of her new title.

Elle musician of the year :Looking stunning in a simple floor length gown, in the colour of valentines itself Chezza didn't fail to turn heads..for all the right reasons!

Elle Style Icon of 2011 : Emma Watson opting for a more daring look than normal. I love it and prediction = we'll see a tonne of similar styles flooding the high street soon.

Elle Model of the year :   Coco Rocha in a ladylike style dress that wouldn't work on most, but she pulls it off perfectly.

Laura Bailey : Shouldn't work but it does. Love the contrasting bag!!

Sophie Ellis Bextor working the 80's style in a dusty pink dress. Note the large clutch a major trend this SS11 .

Now Brace yourself......

Pixie Geldof in some sort of purple print..i don't get it. Especially when it's from a girl whose known for her usual great style sense.

Donna Air : If she'd kept it as the trouser teamed it with a simple top it could've worked.
