Motel Rocks for Christmas

MotelRocks

As christmas creeps up we end up spending all our pennies presents for friends/family & we're obviously left wondering if we'll be able to treat ourselves to a little something. Well the beauties at Motel Rocks have provided a discount code that gives £10 off any order £40 or more. Personally my top 'need in my life now' items  are the 5 treats above. The leather peplum being my utter fav! They've got soooo many gorgeous items in stock so roll on over to their site now & have a mini secret splurge. But the code is only live till Dec 12th!

February dreams...

Feb wishlist

Upon creating my January wish-list i did wonder if i would ever actually get any of the items on it, but i now have my American Apparel Disco Pants, a new Mac lippy and the tartan dress (used in this ootn post).

I think i've acquired a new addiction in the form of AA Discos, a navy pair have now been added to my dream wardrobe. Runner shorts and cute blouses will no doubt be purchased in abundance before my travels, and as an avid fan of anything metallic and/or studded the obvious accessories will no doubt be added to my haul. A few of my current tee's are about to be chopped up and made into the perfect summertime tee, in the midst of snow that sounds random right? Yeah i even confuse myself when thinking about it. Ah well pop a big coat over the top and no-one else will witness the randomness.

I was aiming to go along to the TOWIB event tomorrow, to catch-up with some familiar faces as well as meeting the brains behind some of my new favourite blogs, but i left it too late and couldn't get a ticket. *insert sad face and grumbles here*. I for one can not wait to read all about it via blog posts next week.
Laying low again this weekend, having the life sucked out of you by meds isn't quite what i'd aimed for but hey i get to watch the footie and bake some treats tomorrow, then head to Stratford on Sunday for a spot of highly unnecessary retail therapy. Hoping to sneak in a cheeky drink too.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!

Neon Times ...

In the midst of my obsession with wearing black, black and more black with the occasional hint of colour i was wondering if i'd ever fall back in love with colour. With all the talk about the pastel hues set to be big this SS12 i liked the idea of it in theory but aside from maxi skirts i'm not sure if it's a trend for me.

Step forward the Neon Brights trend that seems to be making a slow but sure impact on the collections of most high-street and online fashion outlets. Personally i'm in love with neon yellow and the mixed prints & the following items a have made their mark in my 'wish-list'.

January dreams ...

January dreams

As i purchase more gems i'm pretty sure my wish-list is yet to shrink, how that's possible i'll never know (ok so my shopping addiction could be to blame..but we'll ignore that for now. haha).
I've picked out the items i'm hoping to add to my life over the next 3/4 weeks, well aside from the Miu Miu clutch which is something i' determined to save up & purchase this year. As much as i'd love to buy a miu miu baby each & every month i don't have the balance of an Olsen twin just yet so that dream will have to be put on hold. Meh.

I have a rather large girl crush on Rihanna (who doesn't) and 90% of the time i love her style. Some of it is a little extreme, but then she's a performer and if she was just dressed 'normally' we wouldn't be talking about her half as much. I had a similar tartan dress when i was about 9? which i was obsessed with and i have a feeling that obsession will be returning...with a delivery at the weekend! The collar is an extension of my love for all things masculine influenced, with the flats combining my need for comfort & studs.
Not that i've been able to find the nude beauts in my size anywhere but i'm not giving up hope just yet. Last but not least the AA Disco Pants, i wasn't sure when my cousin first uttered the words ''Deep you could soo rock a pair of AA discos' as i have a big complex regarding my thighs/hips ( i won't even begin to go into my list of dislikes) but when i saw them in Westfields the other week i left dreaming of a pair.
So if i'm a good little fashion saver i may treat myself come the end of the month.

My mac & general high-end make up habit is in ned of a fix and i have managed to accumulate enough empty containers to swap for a lipstick of my choice. I'll no doubt stick to my usual pink tone, though with Saint Germain , Girl about Town & Chatterbox all already in my possesion i'm wondering which hue to go  for next. If you have any ideas pass them over :)

Fashion Filled Dreams

 Wish-list elements

Wish-list elements by mkaur

With next seasons trends already coming into the forefront of our minds, my wish-lists seem to be experiencing some serious growth! Here's a little spread of a few items that, i hope, will be invading my wardrobe in the coming months. Embellished leathers, leopard wedges and elements of gold will all have a part to play during the remainder of 2011.

A Slice Of Shoe Heaven .....

Jeffery Campbell is a name that fills me with pure joy. Each and every season i find myself discovering even more styles, both old and new, that immediately capture my heart. Sadly i haven't quite built up a bank balance that will allow a purchase per month but that doesn't stop me from dreaming.

The classics

My latest loves

Combining my love of Wedges, ankle boots and the pastel shades that come with summer these beauties have jumped to no1 on my wish-list!

Highstreet Dreams

For those of you who didn't catch the latest reality show to hit our screens last night you missed out on a treat! Cashing in on the success of 'The Only Way Is Essex' E4 launched it's own spin off 'Made In Chelsea'. Personally i found the show to be a right laugh, though possibly for all the wrong reasons and it looks as though i wasn't alone in my thoughts. Twitter and Facebook went a little bit crazy over the rich kids of chelsea and their antics, with many stating it was no comparison for TOWIE.
I don't want to comment to much on the behaviour of the so called 'in crowd' but i will say this > It didn't do much to make us 'normaltons' feel any kind of empathy for the guys and girls involved. TOWIE may be a bit cheesy at times but that's why we all love it, plus i think most of us relate more with the idea of 'bitching about respective other halves' than sitting in an offices having a portraits of us painted whilst we hold a globe?! ( you had to see it to believe it).

For me one of the most irritating people featured was some guy in a green blazer who was outraged at the thought that someone would even dream to shop in Topshop or be seen walking around in a high-street garment. Obviously not really up to date with the fashion world, if so he would note that even the biggest celebs in the land come to the UK high street to get their fashion fix. Don't get me wrong, i love designer fashion, it's featured regularly on this blog & my wish-lists, but not everyone afford to pay £300 for a top.

Surely fashion should be open to everyone no matter what your budget is?

This got me thinking about my birthday and the inevitable wish-list i've been slowly building up...of mainly high-street items. Maybe green blazer boy wouldn't approve, but i think the rest of you will once again see why the british high-street is regarded as the best in the world.

Topshop > A fan of black biker style jackets this caught my eye due to it being in an alternative hue but still edgy.
ASOS.com. Maybe i'm cheating a little with this selection but in my defence it's from the asos own range and at a budget that would rival the high-street prices. The only other thing i have to say about these is that i am in love.

Topshop.com > Perfect for lazy days and casual summer nights. Teamed with leggings and pumps OR quirky tights , a pair of heels and a few choice jewels : Either way this is being added to the 'basket' as i type.
Topshop.com > Gold Jewels fill me with joy. With an accessories collection to rival most shops , i fear i have an addiction that won't be coming to an end anytime soon.

River Island > An easy way to adapt some of the 'western' trend into your look  RI have hit the spot with these beauties.   Can imagine these teamed with the Tee, Jewels and some snake print leggings Or a simple tank and white maxi skirt.

I think i'll stick to my predominantly high-street wardrobe for the time being.

Birthday Wish list : THE Dress

Every year i have the same issue come April > What to wear for my birthday night out come May.
So it's just a birthday, but then doesn't every girl want to look that little bit nicer for her birthday?Plus for me it usually results in a big night-out & reunion with a lot of friends i don't get to see as often as i'd like.
This year i've found an almost perfect dress: Twice.
The problem? Well one's the right style and the other the right colour.
So due to this little drama i've picked a few more possible picks...I wonder what i'l end up wearing?

This Tunic/Mini dress was due to be my new years outfit but thanks to a spectacular cock up by topshop i ended up receiving a pair of trousers and my dress went to a home in manchester. Not able to find it anywhere, i'm a little miffed but hey i'll just have to trawl through the other possible options.

Missguided.com > Love the style of this dress & have already conjured up how i'd 'style' it. One problem i want it in a vibrant colour but typically i can't find that version.

NastyGal.com > My new favourite online shop has come up with this gorgeous  little number. Bright in colour, Pockets and fitted at the waist all fit my criteria but long sleeves are putting me off.

Love the bodycon style and cut outs of these dresses see on Annalynne Mccord and Audrina Patridge.
I've managed to hunt down this same dress in a bright pink so this could be the dress i end up sporting on the night.

Topshop Fringe Tassle Kimono Jacket
This is the jacket i WANT AND NEED in my life come the big day. Perfect for summer  it's formed part of my dreams in recent weeks. Hmm wonder if i'll manage to get my hands on it?

Reacquainted Love

Amongst the madness that is my life atm i've surprisingly found time to build up a rather impressive birthday wish list and with 8 weeks still to go i'm dreading the final total!
Wild fox is a brand i've liked for while but in recent weeks i've rediscovered them and have fallen head over heels. The simplicity of the cuts teamed with the varied prints are effortlessly cool.
I have 3 current personal favourites :

This oversized Tee could be worn as a tee with leggings, shorts or even a dress with quirky tights and wedge boots. A perfect fit for my current 'style'.
Whenever i see this image i fall in love once again. Simple in both style and design i don't think i'm being dramatic when i say i NEED this in my life!

I have a new found need to add maxi dresses into my wardrobe, dont ask me why i just do. Both styles would be pretty perfect and as i'm feeling greedy both would be welcomed into my life with open arms.

Then there's the advertising campgains/lookbooks. look books are usually a simple way for a brand to showcase their new collection, with many opting for the standard 1 model/1 background style. But Wildfox Couture's imaginative & fun shots are another reason i love them. Below are a few of my favourite images from their mass collection of lookbooks..

To get your Wildfox fix you can either head to their official site or to a number of independent online retailers who stock a selection of their pieces:
